Legends of Belariath

Classes

Entertainer

The life of the Entertainers revolves around public performance, and this can be in almost any mode. Dancers, tumblers, musicians, singers, jesters, sword swallowers and stage magicians are common but almost any skill which revolves around entertainment is possible. Entertainers have skills which overlap that of the Bard, and at first glance may appear quite similar. Yet they are or could be the jokers of the lot leading a gaggling of lovely ladies on with their clever wits or perhaps the nimble jester that evades a touch and absolutely must share with a willing and enthusiastic crowd.

Mindset:

The primary goal of an Entertainer is to seek attention. Plying their craft in public or private venues, they only truly come alive when they are at the center of attention. They crave adoration and notoriety - prima Donna's who would do almost anything to gain and hold the attention of their audience. Their own happiness seems to revolve around the responses they receive from their chosen audience. They are uncomfortable if they are not always the center of attention wherever they happen to be. Unlike the bard, who evolves their ability through the power of their voice, the ability to play an instrument and their prodigious memory which absorbs stories, songs and fragments of lore like a sponge, the entertainer will commonly be one who uses their entire body in a performance, their training and performance relying far more on physical abilities. Both Bard and Entertainer have access to Symphonic Sphere magic's, but the Entertainer is limited to non-combat spells.

Advantage:

Born Performers
Entertainers are born performers, meaning that they are more at ease in front of a crowd than when they are not. They will have an easier time dealing with those who watch their performances and as such will find themselves often sought after for their skills when there are events that require them to enhance the festivities.

Disadvantage:

Desire for Center Stage
Entertainers are often noted for their egos, some rightly earned and others less so. They will often demand attention and expect those who are watching them to be as engrossed with watching as they are with performing.
