Archaon

The Nightmare Ascension

Long had the Drak Sen known as Archaon thrived within the realms of the Emperor, watching His lands. Long has the Necromancer culled out the weak, so the strong prosper. Under the intense watch of the Elder Dragons, serving them to the utmost, blessed time and again of their favor has Archaon fulfilled their desires. To keep the world in balance.

Through countless trials, defense of the land against raiding opposition, and defense of a doomed Elder, Archaon had forged himself into a powerful being of the Emperor's lands. Despite his nature, and his true devotion, the Drak Sen remained to his cause, his duty, and to the Elders.

Receiving an official scroll bearing the Imperial Seal, Archaon departed his dark tower to respond to the Imperials.

Upon arrival, and some of the Imperial Guard avoiding any nearness to the Drak Sen and his forboding powers of the death magicks, the Necromancer stands before the Emperor and his Council. The Emperor, it seems, has had Archaon in his eye on many occasions, observing the Drak Sen's rise to his current power, his dealings with the weak populace, and the ease at which he strikes fear into those whom do not readily accept their place in the Emperor's lands.

Thinking that he would be condemned for his countless rapings, and countless attacks upon the weak, Archaon stood like a convicted felon. Instead, the Emperor gives him a choice.. and the choice is simple. Continue to serve Him, and enforce the Emperor's will upon the people, protect the land, and rise to Nobility.. or be cast out for his dealings with the forbidden magicks of Necromancy.

It seemed to the Drak Sen, that the Emperor wished to utilize the dragonspawn's gifts within his Council, within his lands and instill an even further powerful hold upon his empire. The Drak Sen debates this decision left before him for what seemed to be an hour of thought and silence.. until he turned to face the Emperor and spoke.

"My power belongs to the Elders, first and foremost.. however if such is His desire, my power also belongs to the Empire and His rule."

So, did Archaon declare his decision, and with such, the Emperor grants him the power of nobility, and the appropriate title of Arch Lich.. a soverign title to one of his prowess and nature. The Drak Sen knelt before the Emperor, accepting his endorsement and then rose to full height. With a turn, the Necromancer quietly strolled from the Emperor's chambers and returned to the world.

With Archaon's place secured amongst the ruling body of the Emperor's lands, the Arch Lich now becomes the informant, the Eye of the Emperor, ensuring that His subjects are kept in check, and those whom do not bend to His will be punished accordingly.
