Headline News By: Eraelabryn Humbled Words... To my dear readers: It has come to my attention that while I followed direct commands from one I interviewed for the last edition, that my words were unpleasing, and easily found fault with. Rest assured, those who find some information within my articles, that both my stance on the subject, and the matters at hand remain steadfast. However, I did a misjustice, by using words as a weapon, reflecting one subject in a golden light, and another within a half light. Learn from it, dear readers that not always in word truth learn to divulge for yourself, the truth of the matter, not to see through the eyes on another, who may taint images for their own use. For that, I apologize to you. For the lesson, I give only this "Trust no one, but yourself, learn to look past the facade of truth, and in doing so become wiser." Some will use lies to depict truth the way they wish you to see. Others will use truth, knowing you will never believe it. Eraelabryn ( OOC I would like to thank Ray`el for his being a good sport about a SL that is ongoing between our characters, and thank him, for always holding true to good form as a Role-player.) WARNING: OOC ANNOUNCEMENT! Pubic... (I mean Public) service announcement! In all good humor, and thanks for the praise we have been receiving for the Paper, we would like to make sure that everyone knows the news that is contained within it, unless marked with the lovely tag of (THIS IS OOC!) is to be taken on an IC level. We offer every player who comes into the Game, to use the paper as an outlet. Either for creative writing, or to promote Storylines. It's a valuable tool, and an asset. Say you want to make a "Bard" famous. Come to us, ask for an interview, and, or submit your writing. You don't have to be on staff, to submit. Got someone IC you want to have a little fun with, then of course, use the old saying "The pen is mightier then the sword" and prove it. Thank you, once more, for all your support! It's the players that make a game like this as wonderful as it is, and we are so lucky to have the Players (muns) we do behind the characters. You make creating the newspaper easy, and so enjoyable! So one more time! Unless you see those wonderful letters of OOC, this is totally fantasy and should be taken as such. A Long Road Ahead By: Renaya{KBT} Screaming in terror or cursing at an innocent party... my work is not yet done. But then again, I'm a bitch like that. That long road has taken me down many paths and through many lives, requiring me to extricate myself from any number of situations or face an untimely demise. While I will never be able to tell you from whence I came, I can tell you what led me to this point in my life; walking by chance into the Lonely Inn, and finding the cat mage who would eventually become my Master. Who would have thought a duessa such as I would willingly allow herself to be collared? Though, if I should be technical about it, it's questionable as to who collared whom. Which brings me to my first tale: the reason behind my quest to find a Master. I had spent the previous three nights embroiled in a battle of wills, hiding myself in the snow that was piling up rapidly in the hillsides. It was the dead of winter and the bitter cold chilled all who dared leave the relative safety of their homes. While I am not one to be charitable, it so happened that, as I'm given to understand, the current batch of victims were also raiders in this particular country town, making mischief and causing hurts to all and sundry as they stole the furry little sheep and butchered random passers-by. Earlier that fortnight, they had crossed paths with me - a big mistake. While the laws of nature forbid me to kill, the technical stipulation seems to be that driving someone to take their own lives does not quite count. They had taunted me, attempting to force me to submit to them - really, now, does anyone actually see that as feasible? Such lewd phrases were used that I was forced to defend my own honor. (We are not mentioning how much I actually enjoyed said defense.) Thus, I waited, biding my time in the snow. I began to play tricks on them - leaving little notes and ugly little presents in their bed rolls, sneaking in at night to slash my wrist and leave trails of blood pooling around their bodies. Gradually they began to suspect each other of such tricks, unwilling to speak of the events - otherwise, they would have found out that all three of them were experiencing such things. Abruptly, I stopped; leaving them to wonder whether or not their sanity was questionable. That day, I appeared from the eye of the blizzard like an icy goddess, golden eyes glittering darkly in contrast with the startling white of the snow, blade-tipped dancing fans held tightly in my slender hands. The sharp metal was bright against the darkness of the fans as I advanced upon them, driving them back with just as sharp a tongue, demanding that they atone for their grave misdeeds upon all of womankind. Little did they know that they would atone quite nicely as they backed up one step too many, right off a cliff into the stark depths of the night. Instead of being rather thankful at my oh-so-sudden dispersal of the town's villains, they were afraid of what monster might have been unleashed - was I a demon? Devil-spawn and hellfire personified? Not quite, but who would listen to me? It was about the time that the fires started that I began to run. From the Dev Team's Desk....
