Anyone can bid for slaves at these events and they will go to the highest bidder (subject to OOC consent). Auctions will take place in the #TLI-Town channel on the auction block. Details of forthcoming auctions will be posted on the Message Board in plenty of time. How the Auction Works Fees The Slave Authority receives a commission on all slaves sold at auction: Sales by licensed slavers - 10% of selling price Sales by others - 20% of selling price This fee is deducted from the money the seller receives. Sellers Sellers must be either licensed slavers or the registered owner of a slave to be sold. The seller may place a reserve price on his slave (a minimum acceptable selling price). If the reserve is not met, a slave will not be sold but the owner will still be liable to pay an auction fee equal to the normal commission based on that reserve price. If you are offering yourself up to be auctioned off, then the proceeds of the sale go to the Empire minus the ISA commission fee. Buyers Buyers must have the funds available (cash or bank) at the time they bid. Buyers must have the necessary free slots to take on any slaves they buy. Successful bidders without the money or slots may be fined up to 20% of the agreed purchase price. Slaves bought at auction carry the same rights and restrictions as those acquired elsewhere. Registration will be made immediately after the auction for all buyers of personal slaves and that fee will be additional to the price paid in auction. (OOC Note: All slave purchases require the informed OOC consent of all involved.) ~A~ OFFICIAL EDICT FROM THE ISA: If you are an Owner/slave from Valencia, or you consider Valencia your main residence, then you must register your slave IN Valencia so that the ISA can keep record of Valencian citizens -in- Valencia and not Nanthalion. ALL REGISTRARS: Please be sure to ask the origins of the Owner/slave, or where their main residence is (Nanthalion or Valencia) so that you know if they should be directed to Valencia for registration.
