Ye Ole Bonding Rites or "One day the old gray mare won't be what she used to be"
The four recognized Temples, AdenVer, Gea, Ishtar, and Kirva's own, setting for many for their milestones in life. For a warrior, to pray at AdenVer's lodge, for a protector of the balance, to seek wisdom at Gea's temple, Ishtars servant to whisper that their bliss was to serve her, the deciet and striving for power in prayer for one who follows Kirva. Each Temple so very diffrent, so very powerful in its own rite and rank. However there are those things that are similar between. One goes there to serve, pray, seek consul, offer sacrifice, or perhaps Another form of Punishment, that of bonding. Mating, something seen in our lands, but rarely discussed beyond making a bit of fun of those who would seek to bind themselves to Another.
What bonding is between two persons, is between themselves and their Gods. However, how one is bonded to Another is the topic we are discussing. The followers of the Recognized Gods, are welcome to seek out their High Priest/ess and find out the rituals attuned to each Deity. For a fee, the ritual will be invoked, and the persons seeking such, will be allowed Mated Rites. Of course, there will be those who follow no Deity, those can select from any Temple to ask for such to be preformed. Just as those who wish to serve Another god, not given Temple within this land, can seek out one of the four, hold their ceremony, and then retreat to have a private one. Think of it as buying the licence and then holding the hand fasting elsewhere.
It is each Temples right, to charge what they will, to have the ritual reflect on the God/dess that is to be honored with it. While it is not the Empire who sanctions such Unions, they are the only legal, or should one say, recognized mating allowed.
